Bridger is a town in Carbon County, Montana, United States. It is part of the Billings, Montana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 728 at the 2013 census. The town of Bridger was named for the scout Jim Bridger.

The area of the sanctuary is a couple miles South and 3 miles West from Bridger, MT.  So just outside of the small town of Bridger but definitley a very rural location suited perfectly for the habitat that this specie thrives in.
